Gamasco Insulcon Fabric Compensators
Applications for fabric compensators and ready-made connectors are found in all sectors of industry. Generally for transporting hot or cold air or gases, e.g. in flue-gas installations, driers, extraction installations, exhausters, fans and other such equipment, but also as heat shield for vital components or for personal protection.
Fabric compensators are able to withstand the operating conditions to which the duct section is wholly or partially exposed, while maintaining maximum reliability.
Assembled out of several fabric layers, a good thermal insulation and high flexibility (90% axial, 30% lateral relative to the insertion length) is achieved.
Thier low weight, low resistance to axial and lateral movement and their ability to accommodate angular rotation allows lighter construction for pipe supports, fixed points and foundations, and minimise assembly cost.
In addition, fewer compensators are needed for long ducts as compared to metal or rubber compensators.
Materials
Fabric compensators are built up using several layers of fabric, some of which have impregnated coatings, possibly in combination with one or more different types of insulation material. The various material properties are combined in such a way to produce the most technical and economical compensator.
